Who Am I? Tough question… I am a local of the Bay County area. I was blessed to have two natural daughters, who are now grown and on their own. During my single days- I decided to adopt and had come, at that point, to have such a passion for special needs children that I chose to adopt two little boys with special needs of their own. Shortly after, it was brought to my attention the situation with special needs children in foster care in our county. You can read more of that in the OUR STORY section. For years now, I have fought hard to try to get funding for Angels in the Wings Foster Facility. But finding funding has proven difficult. Now, however, I have partnered with a young man named Jonathan. See Jonathan’s Story to read more about this amazing young man. I feel that God lead us to discuss these issues- because what Jonathan brought to my attention was that not only was it the children with special needs in foster care that needed a facility- it was also adults- like Jonathan. Those adults whose bodies keep them from the activities that their minds would like to participate in. Jonathan has received a college degree- for example- but still depends on others for his basic needs. Jonathan dreams of a facility where he can live on his own… give his parents a break from the daily care that he needs. He wants to be an adult like everyone else. So- I have taken on his dream to partner along with mine. Our facility will now be two-fold. We will take care of the special needs children in foster care- and also those adults who need full time care. WOW- what a huge undertaking, right? But nothing is bigger than God!
